Why?
Luke and Colette have a love for creating art. We thought what better way to combine their love for art than use it to help people in need while generating a little bit of pocket money too.
How does it work?
30 % of the total sale price for each item will be donated to FARA or a nominated registered charity of your choice. If you do not message us with your choice we will automatically allocate it to FARA.
FARA is a charity close to our heart. Our dear friend’s son has the heart breaking condition Friedreich Ataxia (FA) and a cure has yet to be found. With more funding we hope one will be found in the near future.
What is Friedreich Ataxia (FA)?
FA is a debilitating, life shortening degenerative neuro-muscular disorder, which affects about 1 in 30,000 people in Australia and New Zealand.
It is most commonly diagnosed between the ages of 5 and 18 years and robs children and young adults of their mobility.
FA leads to loss of muscle co-ordination, fatigue, vision impairment, hearing loss and slurred speech, scolosis (curvature of the spine), diabetes and serious heart conditions.
It is caused by an inherited genetic mutation that limits the production of a protein called frataxin. This protein is needed by the mitochondria, which are the energy producing organelles in our cells. Without it the cells do not function properly resulting in debilitating medical problems, particularly neurological and cardiac.
Although there has been significant progress towards treatments, today there is no cure.
Who is FARA?
The Friedreich Ataxia Research Association (fara) is a not for profit organisation that supports research into treatments and a cure for Friedreich Ataxia. fara does not receive State or Commonwealth Government support and relies largely on the family and friends of Friedreich Ataxia patients and generous businesses within Australia to fund its research programs.
Their priorities are to:
- Identify and fund the most promising research and cutting edge therapies
- Support the Friedreich Ataxia patient clinics
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the scientific community and medical profession
- Engage with the FA patient community and their families
- Raise funds through corporate partnerships and community fundraising
- Raise awareness of FA within the community and scientific and medical professions
Since its establishment in 2003, fara has:
- Funded over $4m in scientific research
- Created an Australian FA patient registry to link researchers to individuals with FA
- Facilitated collaborative work between scientists, doctors and therapists
- Educated the medical and patient communities regarding FA and FA research advances
- Raised awareness of FA within the scientific community and medical profession
- Provided hope for the FA community

Do you make a profit?
We’ve worked out the pricing so we can cover our materials, postage and running costs while making a little bit of pocket money for the artist. The rest will go to FARA or your nominated charity.
Shipping and handling
Postage is FREE for a limited time on all items posted in Australia unless express post has been requested. International delivery charges apply, please email us the address to where you wish it to be sent so we can quote you before the purchase.
Once payment is received, we’ll package your item and send it to you. Postage usually takes 3 -10 working days, depending on Australia post. If you would like express post, please send us a message and we’ll send the item to you ASAP and invoice you accordingly.
Paintings:
Each painting is wrapped well in bubble wrap and is packed in a recycled strong cardboard box to ensure safe delivery. The parcel will be sent with a tracking number. Please message me if this is to be sent as a gift.
Jewellery and accessories:
Each item is wrapped well in protective wrap and is packaged carefully to ensure safe delivery. Please message me if this is to be sent as a gift.
Refunds and Return/Exchange Policy
If for any reason you are not 100% happy with your purchase please look over the following conditions and contact us via the contact page.
Change of mind
Luke and Co creations are unable to offer refunds or exchange due to change of mind. Returns and exchange options are only applicable at our sole discretion.
Faulty or Damaged Goods
Where an item is found to be faulty within the first 48 hours after delivery or is already damaged on delivery, and the customer notifies Luke and Co creations of that fault within the first 48 hours after delivery, then we will either:
- Replace or Repair the faulty Good at our discretion; or
- If we are unable to provide a new replacement, Luke and Co creations has the option to offer a full or partial refund dependant on the amount of damage to the product.
- Where a new replacement is available, and the customer elects to receive a refund instead of a replacement, the refund will be for the amount of the purchase price excluding the initial & return delivery cost.
If your item arrives with clear and noticeable damage to its packaging please take photographic evidence and bring to attention of delivery driver/provider immediately. Where Goods are already damaged on delivery, Luke and Co creations requires photographic evidence of the damage to be e-mailed to us before authorising return of the Goods. Where Goods are already damaged on delivery, the customer should indicate this to the delivery driver when signing the proof of delivery and ensure it is noted on the proof of delivery.
Luke and Co creations reserves sole discretion to determine whether the Goods are faulty or damaged in accordance with this policy.
Luke and Co creations may seek reimbursement of any costs incurred by us if the Product is found to be in good working order.
Other things to note:
While every effort is made to photograph the item accurately, variations in lighting, image processing and monitor display may alter the colours slightly. If the painting or item does not meet your expectations it can be sent back within 30 days of delivery for a refund (minus shipping costs any other associated costs incurred). Please refer to the store policies for more details.
Please keep in mind these items are created by kids so please allow for the finishes to not be perfect.
You will own the original artwork/jewellery or item but Luke and Co retains all rights to copies of the image.
